What is a Tax Stamp?

The tax stamp is a certification that indicates that the NFA item being purchased or transferred has been registered and the $200 federal tax has been applied.

The federal government deposits these taxes into the U.S. Treasury Fund.

In 2014 $31.5 million was collected in NFA Taxes.

In 2017 there were 184,312 ATF Form 4’s submitted — that’s $36.9 million in taxes!
